The visual analogy of a coin as a mostly empty plate connects the headline to the infamous quote "Let them eat cake." This minimalistic design with only crumbs left on the plate serves as a metaphor for the tiniest crumbs of wealth left for nearly 50% of income earners in America, while the top 1% continue to take the whole cake for themselves.
